New Jerusalem Descending

New Jerusalem Descending

And I saw the holy city coming down,

Not from some distant heaven’s crown,

But born of every loving deed

And every prayer the soul has freed

From fear’s dark prison underground.

New Jerusalem, in light profound,

Descends wherever hearts awake

And choose the path the remnant take.

No sun, no moon, no need for flame—

The Lamb Himself is light and name.

The twelve gates open to the four

Directions of the human core;

And those who built with love and might

Now walk within the city’s light.

The faithful sing

The new song only they can bring,

While all who turned from fear’s false art

Now see the city in the heart.

O builder of the inner ark,

O listener to the still, small spark,

O remnant carrying the seed—

Your work has made the city bleed

With living light into the world.

The pruned tree’s branches now unfurled

Reach upward to the descending grace

That meets the upward-reaching face.

New Jerusalem is not afar;

It forms in every faithful heart

That chooses light when darkness calls,

That builds the temple where love falls

Like living water on the dry.

The city descends from on high

To those who, in the Consciousness Soul,

Have pierced the veil and seen the whole.

Awake, beloved, and behold—

The holy city, bright with gold

Of spiritual effort, now draws near.

The end of fear, the end of fear—

New Jerusalem is here.
